DHCP requests enable/disable
DHCP requests enable/disable
When a default IPv4 address is assigned, you can configure the print server to send periodic DHCP requests, which are used to retrieve IP configuration settings from a DHCP server on the network. By default, this parameter is enabled, allowing transmission of DHCP requests. To disable this parameter, use a supported configuration tool such as Telnet, a Web browser, or SNMP management applications.
When an HP Jetdirect Wireless Print Server in a factory default state (without a network connection) is initially turned on, it likely self-assigns a link-local IP address. If a network connection to a DHCP server-based network is made, the IP address might be reconfigured because DHCP requests on the print server are enabled by default.
